Topic: Phantom power and a pedal tuner? |

I have a gooseneck mic that uses phantom power for my Dobro, and I don't know if i can run it through my Boss TU-2 tuner pedal. It seems like a bad idea. Thoughts?

How would you get a low Z mic balanced out into a hi z instrument unbalanced tuner?
It won't be plug and play. That's for sure.
You could do it with a DI box if you really wanted to spend the $$.

I use a 1/4" to 3 pin adapter to run my electric guitar through the channel on my amp that has phantom power(phantom power turned off) all the time. I could get an adapter for it, but it seems like a bad idea to run the phantom power through the battery powered pedal.

| Or just a stand-alone clip-on like a Snark. That would be the simplest work-around. Anything reason in particular that you don't want to go that way? |

My Zum doesn't seem to excite the cabinet enough to activate a clip on.

I'm usually playing more than one instrument, and it's a lot easier to turn off the signal with the tuner than to turn the volume down on the amp. I should have mentioned that in my original post.

It does. It's an Acoustic Image Clarus IIr, so it has a balanced XLR line out.

It does. It's an Acoustic Image Clarus IIr, so it has a balanced XLR line out. |
It also apparently has an F/X loop so you can use that. |

I don't understand how I can use the line out or the effects loop, and be able to use the tuner pedal to kill the signal from the guitar to the amp.
The other instrument (In this case, mandolin) is plugged into the other channel of the same amp.
