I just got this back from John Widgren after a full mechanical rebuild, a newly acquired 1970 push-pull D-10, mahogany mica, decal guitar. John did an amazing job on this, and the sound is just....spectacular. All original, and in excellent condition. It even had the original thin-wall case, which I will be selling if anyones looking for one, I bought a new Thomas Case for it.

Billy, thanks for your kind words...I don't know what I'd do without you and all your kind help with parts, knowledge, and generosity. You are a credit to this community.

Bob, you've got a really good one there. All original, and literally almost no wear! Big sweet fatback tone. Exceptional. Enjoy! It was a pleasure.

I've got a 1970 as well if you would like to sell the case to me. I didn't know they made decal fronts in 1970.

Yep..According to JW by serial number its definitely a 1970, early in the year too, around February or March. I have a few others interested in the case who contacted me already. but I need to get pictures out/up. Not sold yet, just trying to be fair. Ill let you know.

Congratulations, Bob! You've got a great guitar I'm sure. I thought you'd enjoy seeing a similar looking one that I mechanically restored for Bill Terry in Texas a few months ago. It's a '69 with oak mica and sounds like a million bucks.

Very nice '70! It looks like that guitar may have the narrower pedal spacing? (edited: or maybe not, hard to tell)

Kudos to Lynn on my guitar.. Although he usually does a full restoration on the guitars he sells, I asked him to just make this one right mechanically, and leave the normal wear and tear from 47 years of gigging alone. I like that it is what it is.

Hey Bill,, the string spacing doesn't feel too different to me, but Im a novice. Maybe John can chime in on this, great looking guitar…looks familiar!

Those are both wide-pedal, wide-spacing horns. They're also both very cool !!!

I have a '69 Rosewood D-10 "Original" (also wide & wide) but it's a cut-back. As far as I recall, Emmons went to the "Fatbacks" in mid to late '69 and stayed with that through a good part of '74.

Hats off to Mr. Widgren and Mr. Stafford for doing great jobs on two cool guitars..!!

Best wishes and have fun with them Bob and Bill.
