Hi all,
This Sho-Bud guitar belongs to a widow who wants to sell it. I'm just trying to help out, ans see if there is any interest in it, and the value and possible offers.
Her husband bought it in 1974. It has 11 pedals & 4 knees.

Wow. I do not believe I've ever seen 11 pedals on a Bud.

Underside pix. The pieces attached to the changer end legs were for a rack of effects pedals.

Those pickups look like the design shobud did for Pete Drake.
Also; I have never seen a single/single barrel tuning 12-string shobud. This is very early for 12-string and very rare. only person that would probably know all the real stuff about this particular Shobud would be Paul Franklin Sr.

I agree. Great looking guitar. I wish I knew exactly about those big springs. I figure
because of so many pedals, they must be "boosters" for returns. Just a guess!

Yeah--all I can think of is that where the rods go through multiple swivels, there might be excessive friction if alignment is not perfect. I suppose this could hang up the pulls from full and tight returns. I guess.

WOW. D-12 - not many made, 11 pedals I've never seen, Barrels/pullers-best mechanism, and the Pete Drake pickups. Definitely a rare bird.

Pat, may be some interesting history on the guy that played this beast as well as the guitar itself. Can you find out?

Is there an X in the serial number?

Looks like the guy innovated some knee pads out of automotive heater hoses

to help with those big springs!

OK, I just found out that the ShoBud is for sale for $2000, and the SM PP Emmons is $1100.
I'm just trying to help this lady, and dont have a dog in this hunt.
Here's 2 pix of the Emmons SM PP. The pedalboard is sitting on there upside down. They didn't know.
