He is over 50

But I think 50 is the new 30 in the world of steel guitar (that's my story and I'm sticking to it)

I just read your original post again. RT has been around for years and is a pretty major guy, not a new. Sorta flies under the radar a leetle bit, though. Started young. Born the same year ('62) but got started about 30 years before me!

Jeremy, your right about Robbie. He's been playing cool stuff for years.. He can do it all..

I really enjoy Ken Champion's playing on the Smog album 'Red Apple Falls'. Anyone that likes Leonard Cohen will dig it.

I also really like the steel playing by Farmer Dave Scher on the Beachwood Sparks albums. It is very psychedelic sounding stuff.

Adam Goodale is a youngster (27 y/o) from central TX, currently playing with Rance Norton and Jason Allen. Previous stint with Jody Nix....he does TX dancehall music quite well.

Thanks for writing. I really like the Beachwood Sparks stuff also. Going to check out Smog also, thanks for the tip. Big thanks to everybody who's sending lots of great music my way. Eddy Dunlap, Brett Robinson, Austin Stewart the list goes on.The younger guys, I think, are gigging and making money.

Lots of new talent out there.....rarely see them at a steel show though.

If you want to hear innovation....Lloyd Green is still squeezing the sponge on new ideas.
