Could someone with some computer knowledge email a copy of this complete thread to the Emmons Co?
It would be nice to know for sure that they are aware what a pot of boiling water they may be stepping into.

I hope Cor's problem doesn't turn into a Coors problem Image Sorry, just thought I'd try to provide some light-hearted merriment during intermission.

John,
They read it. I have proof.

I can't say more, but I know, without a doubt, this is true.

If history is any indication, once things get too hot, they will give Cor his guitar. They'll claim it had nothing to do with this discussion. Their supporters will say, "See, they were going to do the right thing anyway".

At least it will be resolved.

Farris, it is apples and oranges.

No reason to think this is an insurance issue at all.

No viable reason put forward directly or by proxy to validate keeping the money.

Addressing the issue by proxy would have avoided, by hearsay, any issue a lawyer would have,
if there was one on retainer who advised silence.

Based on what I have seen, no reputable lwyer would likely advise anything but paying the man back.,

What little we may have seen by proxy was inverse to Cor and indeed all our efforts.

It should NEVER have been neccesary for John
to start this thread about Cor's problem.. PERIOD.

Maybe Cor was "just not liked" by the other side, because of mis-communication or some such,
but that still is no excuse.

And we have the other factors speaking against probity on the company's part. Some is hearsay, but some is not.
The BBB settlement a little ways back speaks to a pattern of people having disputes that need settling. This is on record.

But much happens in ther world from word of mouth,
and peoples sense of your honor.
It amazes that a small company, any company would let it's good name be connected with unsavory practices.
Even a giant like Enron is now paying the price for it's hubris.

I take that as a good sign.

As I said before, I will delete this topic when Cor is satisfied that the issue is resolved. I'm not really "in the loop", but if this humongous topic disappears you'll know why.

b0b,
Are you sure you really want to delete this post? What if they go ahead and finally settle with Cor just to turn around and do it to someone else? I think that after all this..., It would be a in-justice to potential guitar buyers. They need to hear what kind of "games" the Lashleys have been known to play on un-suspecting buyers of Steel Guitars. If they really come around and try to overcome the past, then let them prove themselves before you delete it! Otherwise we'll just be repeating these posts sometime in the future. Just my opinion!

Somebody could/ should. and probably has saved the whole sordid saga and can at any time link to the whole html pages on their server.

If I had an extra HDD I'd probably webspiderize the whole site.

I should have done that with Bobbe's site just for the b0b trial alone, but alas..

Just out of curiosity(and, although it is none of my business) -- what criteria is used to determine whether a thread is deleted, or archived? Image<FONT SIZE=1 COLOR="#8e236b"><p align=CENTER>[This message was edited by Tom Olson on 13 November 2004 at 10:26 PM.]</p></FONT>

Wow, I've been away on the road for two weeks. This thread has exploded. I'm glad to see b0b letting it run till it's resolved. I'll be back in town in a couple of days. It will take that to read it all.

Tom see the memebrship agreement
http://steelguitarforum.com/agree.html

Basically they seem to apply :
Common sense
kindness vs nastyness
legal logic
avoidance of topic drift
and sometimes... not shooting a dead horse AGAIN

"We reserve the right to delete any message for any reason whatsoever, to deny service to individuals that we deem disruptive, and to terminate the service at any time without notice."

You may also notice many things stated as what if's or maybe's,
even though they may clearly be true from a common sense view,
just to avoid legal issues for the posters or for the forum per se.<FONT SIZE=1 COLOR="#8e236b"><p align=CENTER>[This message was edited by David L. Donald on 14 November 2004 at 02:34 AM.]</p></FONT>

Good question, but discussion about the Forum belongs in "Feedback and Testing".

I often do a search on products or people here to determine if I want to make a purchase.

I have followed this thread for a long time and being a good friend of John Davis I am with him all the way. I e-mailed Ron Lashley Jnr several times requesting parts for the Emmons steel I had, without success. I sold it and went back to my old Sho-Bud rebuilt.
My $10 is on its way to John and if this situation gets resolved then bOb gets the $10. C'mon Ron Jr. break the silence, you owe it to us all not just Cor. I would love a Le Grande, having tried one a few weeks ago but my money stays in my pocket at least till this situation is sorted.
