First guitars
This was first steel guitar I ever touched! You cant see it but I think its an old Gibson 3 leg Grand Console. This is my dad with Jimmy C Newman and Rufus Thibodeaux. I cant remember the other musicians names.

Hi
The GES guitars were made by my pop pop. I was trying to find one to buy to keep memories going. He was my favorite guy. He passed away and wanted his guitars for my kids. Do you still have it? Do you know where I could get one?

Re: Hi
Jen--I sold the GES to a guy named Fats Kaplan; at the time steelman for Tom Russel. This was about '87 or '88. I think I have seen Fats on this forum once or twice, you might try to search him, or maybe Tom. Last I heard, Tom lived in El Paso.Jennifer Hughes wrote:The GES guitars were made by my pop pop. Unitorms vs. everyday slob appearance...........
Look alike attire wasn't all that bad, at least it looked like you were all there with a common purpose.

1976 ... my first "good" steel (not that the little Red Baron I started on wasn't good, too, for what it was) ... this pic seems a geological age ago; I can imagine what it must feel like for guys with pics from the 50s and 60s!

But I did just recently acquire another Pro III, same axe, same vintage , wood grain...
Tony,
If you had been behind a LDG, I would have thought that I was looking at a young Lloyd Green.
