Hi all, I purchased a Diana a while back (I've never played lap steel before). Was on this forum asking for advice about finding someone to set it up... ended up taking it in to a recommended shop, but the strings that were put on it where for a C6 tuning that appears different from all the lessons I see online. When I try to tune it to the standard C6 tuning it feels either floppy or too tight.
Can anyone please point me to the strings I should purchase? I believe the Diana has a 25" scale neck. Though I'm not 100%. If anyone could also point me to the best lessons to start, would be very grateful!

Hi Alexandre,
I have a 25" scale Lap Steel and the string gauges I use for C6 are :
hi to lo.
14p, 18p, 22p, 24w, 30w, 36w
For beginner's lessons go to YouTube and check Doug Beaumier, Troy Brenningmeyer and many others. They can all help.
Keith.

You may find this helpful; it's a suggested list by Ernie Ball of string gauges for different scale lengths. Not a bad place to start.

Thanks Keith! Looks like a combo of E and C6 packs from GHS, so that makes things easy. And for the suggestions, I'll look them up.

Bob, thanks, I saw that chart, but being that mine fell between the 24" and 25 1/2" scales, wasn't sure which way to go.
