We should hold our heads in reverence to the founder of this, the longest post. It was truly a moment of inspiration rarely met. 8)

A happy birthday to Bob. :D

This thread forces me to repine and retreat to my safe space when others politically opine corrections to my political infelicites. What did I say? Oh...nothing....

Nothing has been posted in this thread for a month.
That is nothing if not surprising. ;-)
I have stuff.
I try to make music with it.
Sometimes it works.
Sometimes it doesn't.
But I keep on trying.

Whilst in the Humor Forum, I noticed something had been posted to Nothing, but since I'm here, I have determined that in fact the something is in fact nothing.

Thanks for your time, at this time, until next time...

Now, you may continue to ponder nothing. :\

Nothing scares me. When I look out and see nothing I am scared. When I hear nothing I am scared. When I read this thread about nothing I panic. I am so scared because when I see how many posts are here and the age of the thread I know that nothing is rampant, and that's scary.

Thanks Gordon, but with so much nothing rampant it could be on me and I would not know it.

I guess with a name like Dye you're over-sensitive to having something poured over you.
Having nothing poured over you is a much better alternative.

Something

Post by Gordon Borland »

Harold you are trying to make something out of nothing but because it is nothing you can't. Have you learned nothing on this thread? To be rmpant it would have to be something. Nothing is not something or it would not be nothing. This will continue but nothing will not even trying as hard as anyone can to make it. You can have anything but you can't have nothing. This is why zero does not exist in nature. There is never not something. Nothing proves this.

The word "thing" was originally a public assembly. The Old English Thing was a parliament. The same word was used in Ancient Norse. The Isle of Man's government still meets in its Thing, as does Iceland, I believe.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thing_(assembly)

Over the years, the word "thing" has become any subject for public discussion.

So, the word "nothing" literally means, "nothing to discuss."

This thread seems to be aiming to change that.

Since have nothing to post, I thought I would post anyway to see if I might start the 149th page of nothing...

Ego. Now that was funny, clever, thoughtful, insightful, intelligent, bright, quick-witted, and creative but had nothing to do with what I meant. Alan, on the other hand, personified it as do I.
Just to clarify, there is nothing on the original hand.
Subsequent post will be, do, demonstrate, prove, define, or shed light on nothing. The only post that would will be nothing. Ego of course, will not allow that.
