Congratulations on getting the guitar taken apart and put back together.
Some other variations have been tried on string 1. If you haven't already found this thread, take a look:

In the second post of that thread, you can find the string gauges that MSA was using for the tuning in the 70's, if that's any help.
That's how mine came from MSA in 1978, and I have not changed it since. When you raise 4 and 8 a half step, the first string functions like the second string of the standard E9 tuning, and the third string functions like the first string of E9.Todd Monroe wrote:Also, do I understand it right that Bb6th has an identical 1st and 4th strings?
