One thing that always amazes me, is that, at least for me, one can go months without making progress, and then, even if you haven't practiced, all of a sudden you make a quantum leap and can do things you never dreamed possible.
It is one of the great wonders of music.

Progress is like a staircase where each step gets taller than the previous step. In the meanwhile your brain has to rewire some connections before it all ends up in your fingers.
