A couple of years ago I contacted Roy Thomson (Forum Member extraordinaire) to do some “outside the box” tablature for me. Roy's cost of tablature creation was reasonable, and between the two of us, we managed to tab out some 30 tunes. Tunes of which are not your classic country, blues or cajun compositions. These songs were mainly songs I thought would fit in with the beautiful instrument we all love. I had obtained licensing for all the compositions and had intentions to publish a book for profit.
In May I was diagnosed with throat cancer. I am very fortunate that it is localized and has not affected any other part of my body. I begin radiation treatment and chemo in August 2015 .
While I have had plenty of time to re-think this project, I decided (and with Roy's good blessing) to offer this collection to my forum mates for free. “Pay it forward” as my kids say.
I will be posting the tablature, Roy's demo track of the piece, and a backup track for your playing enjoyment. Please keep in mind that when I asked Roy to assist me, I wanted the tab (and the demo track) to remain as simple as we could make it. This tab, although it is as close to the original sound, can be enhanced with your individual level of playing and talent.
I will be posting one or two tunes per week until we exhaust our 30 tune collection. You can download the tracks from Pickosong.
