Pretty satisfied witg the way it sounds currently, but somewhere down the road may want to switch pickups. Just wondered if any
of you might know if any of the newer H/B jobs will fit in this old timer. Pre Slimline
D-10. Found some pedals and looking forward to them arriving. Also lokking for a good
workable case for it. Appreciate any feedback
on this. TJH

Thurlon: Most of the openings for the newer humbuckers have to be two inches wide. The length is about the same so that's not a problem. I don't know the dimensions on Deckley guitars, but you might have to route out the opening. Hope this helps

Try George L pickups, they are made so that they will fit in almost any pedal steel. They are super quiet and they have a variety of different ones depending on the sound you are looking for.

Get hold of Jim Smith, in Ft. Worth. He's a Forumite, and worked at Dekley for years. He'll know.

Sorry I'm not aware of what replacement pickups will fit without modifying the body, but I'm sure someone who has done so will pop in.

I routed my pickup cavities years ago by clamping the body to a Bridgeport milling machine, but I wouldn't recommend it for the faint of heart.

I installed George Ls, 5-way pickups and added Carvin active/passive electronics. It involved a lot of work.
