Jason, it seems there many varied ways to tune 8 string steels back in the 50's so not sure anything would be considered "standard". On my single neck here I have a straight up C6 low to high A C E G A C E G

| Dave: That's real cool. I have an eight string Fender, I work with a lady who does a lot of Patsy Cline. We do that same song, and I even have a shirt like yours. Now if I could play that Fender as well as you do, I would be happy. I always end up playing everything on my D-10 Emmons. It's okay, but a different sound, and the Fender is just so cool to look at. Thank you so much Tommy. I'm more comfortable with the pedals myself, but I've gotten into the non-pedal thing in the last few years.
If you have the shirt maybe I better keep an eye out for you trying to take my gig when they do this show again next September.  |
