Sold Pending Payment - Sierra S 10 3X3

Post by Robert Mader »

Sierra S 10 3 pedals 3 Knees E9 Emmons set up. Nice guitar for it's age. Serial number TW10 319*9 I don't know what year it was built. The guitar plays well, has a nice tone, stays in tune, it shows less the average wear for it's age, it has a couple minor scratches on the chrome trim but generally it's a nice looking guitar. Comes with hard case. Price $1350.00 Buyer pays shipping.

I don't honestly know who makes them but most Sierra's have the same type it just slides in and out. Maybe one of these old timers can help you on that. Sorry.

That appears to be a Danny Shields pickup. They were similar in construction to today's Tonealigner pickups. The volume of each string can be adjusted independently.

Robert and any interested buyer, that serial number tells me that this is a "Timber Wolf" model and I have a hunch that it was born in 1979.

Before Sierra built the "Artist" series of entry-level guitars; back when the Emmons company was building the "Blackrock" model (during the country-rock heydays of the 1970's), Sierra Instrument Company was producing the "Timber Wolf" S10 E9th guitar as an entry level instrument. It was a pro-quality instrument with 10-strings 3 pedals and 3 knee levers.

b0b, I believe you're correct, the pick-up does appear to be one of the superb Dan Shields products.

The price is right on this fine instrument - Sierra guitars are excellent 'tone machines' that are 'bullet-proof and 30 feet tall'. Someone needs to jump on this

Keep on pickin'!

I agree with Glenn. Arguably, the best deal on a steel. RP
Emmons SKH Le Grande, '73 P/J bass, Tick tack bass, Regal high strung, and a Coral Sitar, USA Nashville 112.

Hard to think of it as an "entry level" model. It has exactly the same hardware and construction as my 1978 Sierra Olympic S-12 5+4, which was their top of the line back then.

this is a wonderful guitar, if I didn't have 2 Sierras already, I would have grabbed it myself... I can see Artist as an entry level Sierra, but not this guitar... as far as I'm concerned, this is a pro steel, and very good price as well...

Awesome guitar at an awesome price!

Although it is a 2 up/down changer, there are still endless possibilities for adding many changes to this guitar, especially since the underside is pre-drilled in all the right places. A very well thought out plan on Sierra's part.

Tone is amazing with that Humbucker pickup, endless, clear sustain.

Can't go wrong with this one, the price is very tempting. Someone buy it quick!

Look how clean and unmarked the case is inside

An indication of a closet type guitar. For the money it is a buy.
