New Luker Steel Amp
I wanted to post a short note on a new Luker steel guitar amp that Del Mullen has been working on with Luker. I played one on my set at the SWSGA last weekend in Phoenix and spent a fair amount of time with it in the Mullen room.
I am not much of an "amp head", change gear infrequently, and have a short memory on top of that. So I don't remember a lot of details. It is all tube and and is using the 15" Mullen Eminence speaker that Del has had around for several years. SO, the only down side I can post is that it is heavy by today's standards! I believe Del said the power amp is close to an old Fender Twin. All I know for sure is that I really liked the sound that came out of it!
I'm sure the Mullen folks can share more info if you are interested. It is not on the Lucker web site. Lots of great boutique amps out there now. (I use a Sarno/Furlong combination most of the time). Here is another one that will no doubt be popular too!

Looks great!
three things really caught my eye:
1. Presence knob and sweepable mid.
2. Impedance switch on back.
3. "Load" switch. I can only assume, but I hope this loads up the power amp so it sounds like its cranked up (like any tube amp should be) when it is at a reasonable volume.

More likely it varies the input impedance (adjustable pickup load). A useful feature in my opinion.Justin Griffith wrote:3. "Load" switch. I can only assume, but I hope this loads up the power amp so it sounds like its cranked up (like any tube amp should be) when it is at a reasonable volume.
I like the logical control layout. 47 lbs isn't bad considering the iron this thing is sporting.
