Ray:
I was in Burlington this week. I did try to contact Emmons Guitar Co. I was at the door step. No one home. I don't want to start a rumor! Just want to know. I am in the market for a guitar. I was born in Burlington N.C. and go there often. Will be
there next week. This is a Forum. I report what I see. We all love Emmons guitars. If
not, why would I be asking the question? Do
you wan't me to be like John Kerry and tell you they were closed for The Pass Over? Or
what ever fits the moon phase?
Bill

The price of the Emmons Guitar Co name rights must be falling rather rapidly, and might soon be worth next to nothing to the present owners. Let's hope some reputable builder buys the rights to the Emmons name (could be a really good deal), and gets Buddy himself involved in creating a new, innovative generation of Emmons pedal steel guitars. The current events have nothing to do with the Emmons name or the design of the guitars, so I believe that news of all-new management, if it were to come, would fully resurrect the reputation among steelers worldwide in a matter of minutes.

Yes Ronald I understand what you're saying, but I think the Emmons site is hosted in the U.S. and most webhosts in the U.S. don't require yearly payment, you can pay for an entire year if you want to but it's not necessary. For example, Pair hosts many top business sites, has many different kinds of accounts, payment options are the same for all accounts. It doesn't matter if it's .com, .biz, .net or whatever. I've had them all, still have a .com, .biz and a .net active there now, all the same cost. They charge more for more disk space, bandwidth, cgi scripts, etc. The Emmons site is a very simple site, could be hosted in the cheapest type of account. Most webhosts in the U.S. have similar terms.
[This message was edited by Jim Phelps on 31 October 2004 at 12:52 PM.]

Bill,
I had the same issue when I was there a couple of months ago. They are in and out all day long. Go around the basement door and see if the machinist will let you in.
That is how I got in. If Ron is out at the time, his helper may not be able to hear you from in the back room. They are there
[This message was edited by Gary Dunn on 31 October 2004 at 05:38 PM.]
