Would you gig a older sho-bud?

I should add one update/observation about the 6139 posted above. Although it is still holding its tuning well at both ends, it does seem to be way more sensitive to changes in temps than any other steel I've had. When the heat comes on in my study in the morning, the guitar will go from perfectly stable to slightly out. A quick retuning and it's good to go again. As you can see from the pics above, my steel must sit near the radiator (there's absolutely no way around it). The room is very carefully controlled for humidity, but the room temperature swings from low fifties to mid sixties widely this time of year. This should affect any steel, but I've never noticed it before this one.

Gigging an old bud

Post by Bryan Staddon »

Played my 76 pro II last night in Buffalo at Sportsmans tavern, didn't tear it down, right in the minivan set up, carried it through the snow right to the stage, had to tune the g# and my b pedal once during set up, never tuned it again, and it was fine, brought it home assembled put it back in my practice space, sat down this morning and it was still right on the money.either I'm really lucky, or all my electronic tuners are wrong. This always works for me,

I'd like to buy a vowel, John. ;)
My rig: Infinity and Telonics.

Son, we live in a world with walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men with steel guitars. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Lt. Weinberg?

I.ve had a D-10 Professional since 1970 and next to my Show Pro it is the best guitar I have ever owned. I have had a few. I never even broke any of the pot metal. Simply a great guitar with no tuning problems.
