Can you get parts for Remington steels? Still in production? Nice looking guitar. How's the cabinet drop, tone, etc.?

Can you get parts for Remington steels? ANS: Don't know, never needed anything...it's never been broken.
Still in production? ANS: Don't know for sure, but I doubt it.
Nice looking guitar. REPLY: Thank you, the pics don't do it justice...
How's the cabinet drop, tone, etc.? ANS: I've never measured it, and sounds great to my ears.
Thank you for your interest in my guitar.

Gorgeous.. That thing looks absolutely first rate through and through.. If it had a different name decal on it, it would be double the price.
Nothing on that steel that can't be substituted from a different brand, or made by mike yahl.... I don't do the SD thing, but if it were a single frame, I would grab that guitar up fast... bob
I'm over the hill and hittin'rocks on the way down!

no gear list for me.. you don't have the time......

Most of the parts are Fessenden. I had one like this a few years ago. It was super easy to play and sounded very good too. Very nice steel guitar,

Thank you so much Bob & Bill. It's taken me a couple of years to realize I'm not a steel player...I sure do love to hear em' though! This Remington just needs to go to someone who can thoroughly enjoy it. Thank you again for the kind words.

Is the body mica or natural lacquer? Kinda hard to tell.

John, I honestly don't know...which do you prefer? The only mica I know about is dealing with capacitors. Do you mean "Formica", originally conceived as a substitute for mica used as electrical insulation? If so, I don't think it is Formica. I do know it is a beautiful pedal steel, seems to be very well built, and sounds incredible to my ears. Maybe someone here on the forum can answer your question if I didn't. Thanks.

I had a Remington SD-10 years ago. Nice guitar. I do recall the Fessenden bell cranks. Mine looked similar and it was some sort of wood veneer (I think) applied over aircraft dye board. I say that as I could see the wood grain undulations under the lacquer. Could be wrong though. Bobby Bowman would know.

Beautiful guitar! Trying to find a good one so I can start learning. Wish I had the money for this one. 😔

First of all, thanks to all of you who have shared your knowledge of this guitar with everyone. I took another look at it and I agree with the information that Doc shared with us (thank you again Doc). It definitely is wood and has a lacquer finish on it. The pearloid trim is inlaid in the wood.
