Trivia: Produced by Jackson Browne and Waddy Watchel with Mick Fleetwood on drums and John McVie on bass. (Fleetwood Mac) Although Warren is last on the list of writing credits with LeRoy Marinell and Waddy appearing before Warren, he did write Poor Poor Pitiful Me and Carmelita that has crossed country ears. Linda Ronstadt's versions of both and Dwight Yoakam's Carmelita to name a few for those that covered Zevon's songs.

It's interesting that, given all the multitudes of knowledgeable opinions, that in live performances Skynyrd chooses to end the song with a G major chord.
