I just picked this up today, and I am blown away with the tone of these little steels ! It also has excellent action. For the money, I dont know how anyone could go wrong with these steels. I ordered the pad from Doug today as i am used to having an arm rest on the back. I used to own a Zumsteel D10 that Bruce built for me in 1995, that I regret selling.

You are right about the motivation factor, this steel sounds so good that it encourages me to practice more all of the time....sometimes you sit at a steel and for some reason, probably a combination of things, it just feels "right", and thats the way it is for me with this steel !
