I want to get a extra set of strings for when I get my lap steel. whats a good brand and gauge?

Jimmy, I don't want to come off as rude and to discourage conversation (because this forum could really use it!), but there is a goldmine of information in the archives of this forum that you can search through and find just about any info you could ever hope for. Strings and bars and such have been discussed literally dozens of times and there is a lot of really good input from players that you may not see around here anymore, so it is definitely worth digging in.

I'd ask Doug Beaumier because whatever he's using sounds outstanding.
Probably tell him what guitar you're going to put them on.
