1984 10 String OMI Dobro w/ pictures

Post by Connor Gallaher »

I have for sale a 10 string Dobro! These seem to be pretty rare. It's in pretty good shape overall. Will need a new nut, it's split in the middle. Unfortunately it does not have a case, will try and find something that will work or include a nice gig bag. Please make an offer! Thank you!

It is a Dobro brand. Ahh not sure on the year, pretty sure these were made sometime in the 70s.

There should be a serial number on the headstock, and the year produced can be traced from the number.

Sure looks clean from the photos.!

So I found from looking up the serial number that the guitar is from 1984. Also looking closer at the headstock it looks like the guitar was repaired at some point. Here's a few more pictures

I have a 1986, 10-string dobro.

And I love it. It has a sweet tone; I think, because of the massive neck. I use a modified C6 (has a high strings D and F) Which means it is a C6/F6. Makes it hard to be satisfied with a 8-string now. Darn!

National case

Post by Alan Ames »

My 10 string fits in a case just like the National guitars fit in. My style O, and my baritone tricone, and 10-string all are the same case.
