Anyone know who built this steel?

Instruments, mechanical issues, copedents, techniques, etc.

It appears to be a heavily modified MSA D12, but I don't know who might have done the transformation.

Reading the seller's blurb confirms that he put a Fessenden fretbord on. The seller also noted the MSA similarities and wondered if Wayne Link had built it, but Wayne tells him that he didn't. Seller also put a Wallace TT pickup on it. I agree that it looks like a heavily modified MSA. I assume it was cut down at some point for the keyless tuners. Interesting find.

Interested buyers should note that MSA had a 24" scale while Fessenden uses a 24 1/4" scale. Unless the scale length was changed during the modification, the frets will be off.

Maybe it is a HEINZ 57. Seriously it is mostly MSA with Fessy FB and I noticed a couple parts that look identical to parts I sellin my "KITS" It probably is a good guitar and someone has spent time trying to have good Guitar.Ed Naylor Steel Guitar Works.

Thanks Much to you all for your help.
Amazingly, the gentleman who built it Emailed me yesterday. He is quite certain it was one of his guitars. He's in his mid 80's now and no longer plays or builds. Says he built them for a hobby and made every part in his shop. Blows me away. Ya gotta love that old world craftsmanship. I'm liking this one more and more..

just gotta win this auction thingy.. Image
