Since there are so few of them in the world with such a small amount of actual, non-shill word-of-mouth experience with them, there's just no real reputation yet. That takes time and numbers.

With barely any in the used marketplace to build a database, I don't know how anyone could guess a used Hudson's actual value. What does this go for, new?

FWIW, I would register a lot quicker if this were listed as an S-6, 2P+1K

Troy Brenningmeyer owns a Hudson pedal steel with 2 pedals and 2 knee levers. He recently produced a really good video that shows the Hudson to be a great sounding, very stable guitar. I would take his opinion of the guitar to the bank. It's an inexpensive guitar and probably shouldn't be compared to Cadillac models. I'm fairly certain Jon's shill analogy doesn't include Troy.

I believe the model you described lists new for $595

I have a Hudson on order right now. Hope is with the help of Troy's lessons, I can learn to play this instrument. Based on Troy's C6 Lap Steel Lessons, I should be Okay (quality of material presented). Plus it has been a pleasure dealing with the builder of this guitar. Custom height; no problem. Should have my instrument in about 3 weeks. I'm still in the beginner steps of learning to play lap steel. Should be interesting. Heck, I'm only 80 - still young enough to learn. And I'm fortunate enough to take lessons weekly via Skype from John Ely. Life is good. Comment about John --- John is a fantastic teacher and I think very highly of him- not only as a teacher but as a fine human as well. It is a pleasure to have him visit me each week. (I do make his ears bleed, I'm sure)
