Where can i buy about 25 G# strings?
Would a slightly stronger gauge than .011 help avoid breaking so many?
I know this subject has been covered before but my "search" didn't produce anything.
THanks a lot!

Well, I can tell you that I have never broken a .0115" Jagwire string on my E9th (actually I have not broken a single string through 3-4 months of sets). I really like the tonal and tension balance with the other string gauges I use.

Good luck,

Bob,
I have used a .012 string for my 3rd string for several years. I think it lasts longer and I get a fuller, richer tone with a little heavier string.

Since I switched to Jagwire stainless I hadn't broken any strings, and I use an 011 for my G# also. thin is in.
You can buy single strings right here on the forum.

Bob, sounds like if you want to buy 25 strings, you're goin' through alot of strings. You might want to determine if the strings are failing in the same area; ie, the roller, or near the changer. If this is the case, you might need to investigate if you have some wear on the changer finger or on the roller. I've broken one string in 8 months. I still play with 0.011's on the G#. Just a thought. This was addressed by Ricky Davis a few months back. |
