When I get there, boys, prop me up in the corner and feed me a lot of coffee. I have a long gig on Saturday night before our show. I might get e few hours sleep, but, I doubt it.

Oh Man, this is gonna be great! Really looking forward to this incredible lineup. See you there.

John - I guarantee once these cats start to play with that great backup band, the adrenaline will flow and you'll have more energy than you can imagine.

Let's hope John and Darlene stay over Sunday night and get some good sleep, as you are right Jim, he will not be doing much sleeping. And you will be playing as well John? You are one tough guy.

We are Coming

Post by manny escobar »

Jim Rice is RISGA`s new president. Also coming from the Newport, RI area is sister Jo Vierra, (RISGA`s new v.p.), Roger Trahan, (RISGA`s treasurer and PSGA`s little big door guard), Elaine Ellis, Jim Davis, with his daughter in law Lisa and yours truly Manny Escobar. Looks like the PSGA is going to have a full house.

Thanks Manny for the support, It is going to be a great show, the PSGA staff has put a lot of hard work into this and for the past 41 years.

I think this year will be one of the best shows, although they have all been top notch for the years I have attended.

I have met so many great and talented players many of whom are gone and am happy to have made the effort to attend every year.

I started compiling a list of the people I have seen the other night and it is over 50 big names, many of whom are Hall of Fame Members. Other patrons of the show could best my list in multiples though.

If any one is on the fence about making the trip to Norwalk this Sunday, you will be in for a great time and should leave with a big smile on your face.

Hope to see ya'll there!
Regards, Craig

From our "neck of the woods" Joann Svenson is also coming. I forgot to mention her. It`s a good thing she doesn`t read the forum.

I really enjoyed the show, hearing the great players and seeing so many old friends. I walked in the front door and met a group of friends/steel players swapping stories in the lobby and we all stood there and talked for 45 minutes! Finally made my way into the show and heard so much excellent playing. Really sweet stuff! C6 Jazz, E9 ballads, swing, speedpicking, pedals, non-pedal. Great picking from all of the players, and the backup band was excellent, as always. And only $20 admission? Unbelievable!

Psga- Thanks

Well, the 42nd show for the PSGA has come and gone and I'm still in a happy fog.
Everybody had a great time. All the performers played their utmost and really shined on stage. The back up band was stupendous and truly professional and I might add, never missed a beat. Footch,Van, Dave and Steve, my hats off to you. Thanks a lot!
Buck Reid, Mike Sweeney, Chuck Campbell and Cindy Cashdollar were spectacular. They all added their special flavor to the tunes they chose and played them flawlessly. Such a treat!
Also, the PSGA staff, Bob Maickel, Jeff DeMaio, Darlene De Maille and all the other members, who, helped make the show flow smoothly deserve a big thumbs up.
Thanks to Mike Gross, who, emceed the show and did a wonderful job!
And lastly, to all the members and their friends, who, attended the show. Without you being there, it just wouldn't happen. You are the reason we do it and we do it because you attend. I, personally, had a great time seeing all my friends and hearing some great music. Keep the PSGA GOING by showing your support !!!!!!
Thanks again to all.
Sincerely,
John De Maille. PSGA- VP

Thanks Jim & Craig!

Hope the PSGA show was good!! Only 1 day this year? That's the 1st time I've seen that, in all of these years of shows. 🤔

I'm glad everyone had a great time. Anna and I were unable to come as we were tied up with our home being remodeled. That's right I did it all myself. I'm what you call a jack of all trades and master of none.I'll be 79 the 27 Th of this month and I just keep busy as long as this Defib. and pace maker keep ticking. We are hoping to make it next year and I'm glad you all enjoyed Sid Hudson and Chuck Campell two great Steel players. If you did not notice Sid Hudson plays with a regular guitar pick and two finger picks and he does a great job. I have a problem with just the regular picks.Glad to see the RISGA members were there.I be leave the NESGA members were there also.I also see where Billy Knowels from here in N.C. was there who is one great Steel Guitar rebuilder and repair man.
