Someone mentioned a while ago that there's a ring spreader tool one can use to work with the pull rod E clips on Legrandes... do you need to get a special tool to change the set up?

If not a ring spreader proper, what is the best way to get them off and back on again?

Where would you pick up the tool if wanted or needed?

Thanks in advance...

This is a great set of snap-ring pliers.
Perfect for removing and installing push-pull retaining clips. (Didn't see it was to be used on a LeGrande)

I just grab ahold of mine with a needle-nosed plier and pull them off. Use the same plier to push them back on. A piece of cake!
The tool mentioned above won't work. Emmons' e-clips don't have the hole to stick the little thing-a-ma-jig into.

I do just like Erv says, but I've also found a few choice words to go along with the task hand-in-hand. The little woman doesn't like them, but they often vent the steam when one of those little "@$%^&*" goes "ping..." and directly into the Bermuda Triangle!

honestly, the needle nose pliers are great!

In shop, the teacher called them Jesus clips, because of the expletives that followed when one of those little clips went flying off in the wild blue yonder.

Nicholas,
www.Mcmastercarr.com has clips,on the home page click on retaining rings/p3052, for Eclips, p3050 for snaprings. There is a spec. chart, click on black rings. Also, there is a neat tool for removal/install Eclips under handtools/ retaining ring pliers p2584, part #5728A2. The clips are only about $3.50 for a bag of 100.(you can lose a bunch before you have to reorder) Hope this helps.
