Lap Steel for Freddie Roulette

Post by Keith Cordell »

I am in search of an available steel for Freddie Roulette, who many of you will be aware lost his gear and everything else he owns in a fire a week + ago. There ahs been a fundraising effort and we are searching for a National or Supro 8 string steel. He played a 26" and that would obviously be great; a different scale will also do as we have found a builder, Jason Dumont, who will build a high end replica of his guitar. We need an original for measurements, comparison and research. I would rather just purchase one that we could pass on to Freddie when we're done with it, but if you don't want to give it up we'll rent one too so that Jason can measure it and get the new one right. Contact me if you have one to rent or sell.

Here's an example of what Freddie (and Keith) is looking for:

Sorry, but his scale length was 26". David Lindley gave him the guitar. It's been confirmed repeatedly.

It could be possible that Lindley got it wrong.

so did Freddy.

This is 23" but I think similar to what Freddie played. It's from the Bay Area originally so would be cool for that to go back to help Freddie. I'm in Nova Scotia so maybe there's something similar or a 26" closer. Let me know though.

Sweet! We are in process on that guitar and no longer need one for Freddie unless someone surfaces with a long scale guitar. You all killed it! I am seriously happy with this, and Freddie will be too!!!!

Awesome I am really happy. He has been a die hard Lap Steel Guitar player with little known success but has played with some hugely famous people over the years.

He deserves more credit. Ahh well at least we can try and help him get back a similar Lap Steel Guitar and that is awesome.

Right on forum family.
