I have a 70's model Sho Bud Pro II and lately the 10th string winder on the upper neck will loosen as I play. Before I do something wrong, do I just snug the hex nutt around the stem a little or what ?? thanx Bill. |

Hello BILL,easy on that nut!!!it will strip so easy.I would say you got a screw on top of
the winder! tighten that screw just a little at the time and try it. good luck

Trying to understand more.
Bill are you talking about the hex nut sleeve that screws into the tuner on the inside of the head stock; that holds the tuner to the outside of the head stock?? If so; than yes the 10th and 1st string tuners are the tuff ones because the washer that goes on also, will actually inhibit the tightening of the hex nut sleeve; because it will wedge up against that little corner in the head stock. So yes try tightening it down more so; or take off the washer. The little screw on top of the tuner; just holds the ovalish key-head to the turning shaft and that has no effect on if the tuner is slipping.
