I believe a guitar signed by Paul Franklin is a very valuable part of Sho-Bud history and therefore IMHO very desirable. Your guitar looks almost exactly like the Sho-Bud Pro III Custom I have been trying to find, with one exception, mine was signed and built by the great Duane Marrs. Duane's signature on any Sho-Bud is IMHO another very desirable and important part of Sho-Bud history.

Sherm's question was in regards to the presence of Paul's signature as having inspected the guitar before it left the factory translating to extra value which I take to mean that if one were to sell the guitar at some point would it command a higher price?

Does having the signature of Duane Marrs (or Paul Franklin) on one's Sho-Bud command a higher price than a guitar in about the same condition but the inspector might have been "Joe Schmoe?"

I would love to see Duane or Paul's name on the label of my Bud because it would be cool. Would I pay extra for it? With absolutely no disrespect for two gentlemen for whom I've got huge respect, absolutely not.

edited to add: if they let it out of the factory all upsidedown like that, I would lose some of that respect.....

Back when I bought my 1976 Sho-Bud Pro III Custom, Dwayne built and signed the guitars he built. I spoke personally with Duane about my order. I can't speak of anyone elses work. I bought a Sho-Bud D 12 based on the signed tag by Paul Franklin. It was a jewel even after all these years you could still feel the love and craftsmanship in this guitar. It was sold to a man who fell in love with it after trying it out here at my home. I don't mean to take anything from any other person who built guitars for Sho-Bud, I am just speaking about my own personal experience about two guitars I had owned.

Nice axe above , it does appear to be of the later builds before going to the Super Pro system. Small pedals with 2 up 2 down changer but still kept the two hole pullers !
