I hope William keeps the push-pull. The LeGrand does sound really nice, though.

George, I don't think the push-pull is going anywhere. It sounds too damn good! One big thing he mentioned to me was that it doesn't have all the changes William's accustomed to using, especially on that C6 neck. He likened it to having a real nice classic, or muscle car, but in terms of flexibility the LeGrande is definitely a modern performance machine and for sheer performance, tough to beat.

I guess William will just have to get some work done to the C6 neck! I agree it does sound really fine in his hands! :D

I have to say that "My Favorite Things," made for some really fun technique exercises. It would be great to have the bridge of this tune as a future group of exercises with similar grips and reaches. Awesome stuff!

Rebroadcast

William is going to do a repeat of yesterday's 'Lost In A Feeling' week 2 lesson this afternoon at 3 pm. Stupid internet connections played havoc on yesterdays broadcast. Hope everyone is aware.

It was probably a bit rough for William, having to do it again, but that second broadcast was excellent for learning some real steel guitar knowledge.

I hope Joey caught a swordfish. :P

Fish

Post by Joey Andrews »

Daniel I had the fish on the line, when I received
a distress signal from NC saying the Professor was in the Lurches. So we cut the line and rushed back to save him. JA

I guess we could say you were learning some reel steel guitar. We could say that, but we won't. LOL

I really enjoy watching Williams's Saturday broadcasts. He is a very entertaining guy and a great teacher. I like how he is going thru the chords and how to play the melody and harmony on "Lost In A Feeling'. He is motivational to keep me learning and playing.

Today was great, wasn't it? I really liked how he went over the nuances of the chords, laying out the distinction of those F#s especially. That's something i think a lot of steel players glide over a bit, since we are so intent on getting our little parts sounding good. But it's essential to good practice.

Broadcast

The 5th anniversary broadcast was a good one. A lot of helpful material was covered. William was as sharp as a tack playing, just a good time all around.
Congrats on 5 years helping those that want to become better players. I can truthfully say that one year with you has improved my playing greatly. Thanks
