at that time, November 2013, jim vest, was not in the hall and was not on that show. it was another year before his hall of fame induction in 2014.
this is 2015, jim vest has been in the hall one year.
and he will be on this show.

I met Jim last year at the FBsongwriters festival. What a great guy, and wonderful player. I loved hearing him tell the story about the recording session of "set em up joe". They couldn't get the song started the way they wanted. Finally Jim said, give me a few minutes and I'll come up with something. The result was the now famous intro that made the song more than it ever would have been. If you ever get a chance to hear Jim tell the story, it's well worth the time.

thanks john...
that question is at the top of my list, if he doesn't inject the answer first. i love to hear the story behind the song. i have always wondered which came first the chicken or the egg or in this case the lyric or the signature steel run.

this show is right off I-10 and right off hwy 49 and is so affordable that it should have an overflow crowd at the open of the doors.
so much history and so much talent, the school district should hold classes there that weekend.
5 steel guitar hall of fame members....and counting!
