The description for this Gibson up for auction on eBay reads in part...
Quote: |
The pedals were added by "Buddy Emmons" for the orginal owner, who sold it to my father sometime between 1965 - 1970. The instrument is still in good condition |

Maybe they were put on by Sho~Bud as an after market addition for the customer?
Just an idea... did they do stuff like that then.... I guess if the customer was paying they were adding pedals...
Maybe Duane or even Buddy could lend insight

Hmmm...seems like a lot of work to go through on an old Gibson, what with Buddy busy building the Emmons' back then. Looks like there's no room for a volume pedal? Somehow, I doubt Buddy would'a done that! |

It looks like it was set up so the volume pedal could be used by the LEFT foot. I used to know a great player (Bookie Moden) who played like that. It was strange but it worked for him...JH

I started playing around with a pedal steel in 1969. It was a double 8 Fender with add-on pullers
exactly like these. If I recall, you could only raise the string? And you could also break alot of strings.
