I been stepping out side the box again, trying new things to finish a guitar with.
There is lots of options out there and this is one of them.
I been holding Little Alligator Man back a while but thought I would put some pictures up for you all to look over.
Its a one piece vinyl, very tough and pretty.
There are so many things one could do with this material, its endless, snake skin even.
Brenda named the little guy and it kinda stuck.
Give me some feed back if you would, and we'll see where it goes.
Alligator Man won't be for sale till I've shown it off at a few shows.
Thank you all.

Had a question and forgot it, so here it is. What about the JUSTICE brand name in a plastic form, glued to a guitar? |

Its really cool, however the "alligator" look is gone when you backed the camera up.. Hard to determine from photos of course, and it may not happen when in the physical presence of the guitar.. In any case, its a great idea the textured vinyl.. Other color choices of the same material would be outstanding.... _________________ I'm over the hill and hittin'rocks on the way down!

I think it's a great idea, Fred! If you could get some kind of, say... anaconda vinyl, what a great front apron it would be.
For that matter, a front apron with cow hide would be very hip, also. I mean REAL cowhide. _________________ My rig: Infinity and Telonics.

Micky, I'm with you. Real cow hide would dry out and start to curl up on the edges like an old boot, no kind of glue would hold it.
Vinyl is the way to go, there is some nice colors in carbon fiber as well.
Keep the input coming, but be seriously minded please.
I like the carbon fiber look my self. Then there is the animal designs of course. Look out world, here we come.
I forgot to mention, I've been wanting to put a silhouette over on the right hand side of the front apron, of the old Ryman Auditorium with little peoples walking toward it. I think that would be cool. _________________ Email: azpedalman@gmail.com

Not trying to throw a curve here, & this is about steel guitar "covering". So, I wanted to ask:
I know you offer orange ripple & pearl mica, but would you be able to find a plain orange mica? The other color I'd be interested in is white, & you're showing you have that:

Though ripple/pearl would look super IMO, it's not quite what I want do do.
Hint: "VOLS" gtr.
Figuring it wouldn't hurt to ask. Thankew. |

I get what you're saying about the camera thing Bob, but that's what I like about L.A.M. because the pattern is subtle/understated. Another black steel until you get up on it, or see where light brings out the pattern like in the last pic.
Again, WAY cool, Fred.
(And, I shot you an email.) |

There are lots of colors and styles of vinyl.
Lots of colors and lots of designs - about any kind of snake, color, etc. I sell lots of Ostrich seats --- another idea.
Re: Herb's real hide I have several people ask for leather and suede plus hide with the hair still on it. It is possible but lots more dollars ---- most steel players do not want to pay more for their seat than their steel.

Contact cement used to glue the gator finish above or something else? I may change the yellow/black combo I was settled on to one of the gator finishes. My next new guitar is probably going to be one of Fred's. Thanks. |

Thank you everyone for all your many comments.
Billy, little Alligator Man's vinyl is a self adhesive process in which you peel the backing paper off as you go, and use a hair dryer with light heat which activates the adhesive.
Not all vinyl coverings are self adhesive, in that case contact cement would be the glue to use. _________________ Email: azpedalman@gmail.com

While it has a nice look, I would be concerned about the durability of it. I suspect it would need re-covering periodically, but time will tell! _________________ Justice The Judge SD-10, 2007

Pete, this is not your ordinary run of the mill vinyl.
Its tuff as nails so to speak. As a matter of fact, I'd say that mica would be quicker to scratch than vinyl would. As for cleaning, just wipe it with a damp cloth. Its pretty tuff stuff Pete, and pretty too. _________________ Email: azpedalman@gmail.com
