I just had a chance to look at this past Saturday's broadcast. At the end of the broadcast he goes over the Weldon Myrick - Hal Rugg two finger, 3 string song. Very nice and not too difficult until you try to get it up to speed. Good stuff, as always, from Mr. Litaker. Also, a C6 workshop coming. He is "The Man."
Justice Pro Lite (4-5), Justice D-10 (8-5)x2 , Quilter Steelaire, Hilton Pedal, BJ's bar.

This was my first broadcast from William after signing up on the suggestion of Harvey Lamb, a steel player and new friend in Calgary. I quite enjoyed it and I did pick up a few things from William. If I work through the tabs a few times this week, I might come close to learning some of it. Blue Jade, admittedly, is not a song I know but I expect I'll get it as it doesn't seem too complex. Of course, I am an abject beginner generating more noise than music but I will definitely try.

Broadcast
Another great broadcast, just about to put Blue Jade in the books. There will be a new project tune starting soon. I want to welcome all the new folks that have signed up for the broadcast this week. I feel that this will be the best money you ever spent to learn to play!

Saturday Broadcast
Project tune(Lost in the Feeling) Starts This Saturday. William has line up some great licks
for Tech exercises for this week. For anyone that's wants to be a better player, you might want to give
William a chance. He pretty good at getting you started down the right path.

Hell yeah, Joey. This is going to be a good one!
In the couple years I've been with William, I've gone from a pretty rudimentary style of play, to an even more rudimentary style of play, hehe, but with a lot more confidence, understanding of how to place things within a song, the fret-board, how not to get boxed in, etc etc. All those things takes lots of time.
One of the biggest benefits of these weekly sessions is staying focused. You have to have goals in this deal, long range and short term ones. Just last week I got to one: I can play along to Charley Pride's "All I Have to Offer You is Me". Figured out the signature licks and moves on my own, and also put a couple things of my own devising in there.
I need to borrow my wife's phone and get a video up. It's those weekly Technique exercises and playing along with the Intros each week, (those backing tracks are vital to linking your ear and timing!). And of course there are the project tunes. After we finish "Lost in the Feeling" tht should just about take it to William's 5 year mark. You 5 year guys and gals must have an encyclopedia of licks by now!

Agree
Daniel with a couple of years of material is a lot of useful licks in your collection but Larry five years of William stuff, you got enough ammo there to play for years.

Larry, I just started putting together another notebook of licks, tips, and personal discoveries the last month. I did this before, but only made it a couple pages and starting entering similar information into my computer, but I don't look at it or reference it enough. Some things just work better with pen and paper, especially when sitting down and taking the time to think about what we are doing. You can get pretty deep in the mines looking for nuggets on this deal.
Really looking forward to "lost in the Feeling" today!
