Has anyone disassembled a pedal quick disconnect fitting? I'm referring to the device that connects the pedal stud to the pedal rod. It looks like two concentric sliding pieces with a spring inside. But how does one go about taking it apart to clean, de-bur, and perhaps polish it up a bit?
I know I can pick up new replacement fittings - but come on - it shouldn't be this difficult! It's like one of those puzzles intentionally designed to frustrate you when you attempt to disassemble. |

I believe that the top part is pressed/crimped after the parts have been assembled and that it is not meant to come apart. |

Bottom line is...you don't.
And if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
Play it!
