Topic: what years for old emmons cases? |

my old s10 emmons long ago had the case with the rounded corners and the yellow insides. the steel had a decal emblem so was probably a 68 or 69.
now i have a d10 that came in the same type case but the serial # is obscured. it's a wood neck guitar. what years were those old cases used? |

unfortunately mine's got a couple broken down areas.
i wish i could fix it. they're kinda lighter and has a great handle.
i'm thinking they might have been used like from 67 to 70 (?) or something.
anyone know for sure? |

Chris Lucker knows, and I think he even told me, but I've forgotten. One of my 67 bolt ons came (to me) in one... They're cool, but not as tough as a thomas style case in my opinion...

I think you mean the Hope It Don't Rain case. They are found with 1966 and 1967 invoice number guitars as well as 1967 and 1968 "D" guitars. I have only had one 1969 Emmons and it had a red hard case. There may have been other 1969s in the Norlin case. I don't know many detail differences between 1969s and 1968s do i cannot relay any personal experience.

I have the same case for my 78 PP round and yellow... I'm the second owner and was told it's original..

I had 1280D and it had a hard blue case that was not a Thomas case. I think that was a 1969 guitar.
