Has anyone seen one of these in real life? I mean a stroh lap steel as shown in the lower right of this ad (someone just posted the vintage ad on a facebook forum)?
I have seen other variations online, and I know Andy Stein from Vince Giordano's band plays a Stroh type violin.

cool. yes. I had seen some of the other variations, but until the ad in my first post I hadn't seen a photo of the lap steel model. (some of the links on teh otehr forums are broken.. maybe there were photos at one time?) I saw this Uke model in a shop in waikiki last december.. (The $15,000 price tag was just a tad much for me)
