For Sale: LIKE NEW.. One of the last lacquer guitars that Jim Clark built before his passing in July of 2014. Emmons 3-5 set up. Jim built this same guitar twice for me. Once in 1978. Purchased from Sonny Curtis' shop in Columbus, Ohio. That guitar was sadly stolen in 1981 and I had no money to replace it. I was young and poor.
Out of nostalgia, I asked Jim Clark to built the exact same duplicate model guitar for me in June of 2013. Same Lloyd Green model in Blonde Birds Eye Maple, Emerald Green with Barb Wire style trim. This guitar is stunning in every way. Pictures do not show the true depth of color of the hand rubbed lacquer and It has that warm sound that only a lacquer guitar can produce. I treasure the handwritten letter Jim sent to me with the guitar saying that he would buy it back if I didn't like it. Jim delivered the guitar on November 21, 2013.

This guitar has only been out of the case a couple of times and has never left my music room. The Justice case is flawless. It is a newer and timeless guitar from a famous maker. It is a thing of beauty to behold and plays like a dream with incredible smooth action. I need to part with it and find the right home for it. Lacquer guitars of this quality are a dying artform because there are so many hours of hand work on the guitar body compared to a Mica top guitar. Lacquers are in the $4,000.00+ dollar range today so this guitar won't last long. Complete with Volume pedal.
Price: Sacrifice for $2000.00 to the right home. buyer pays freight and Insurance.

HI Dustin...I know and the pictures can not and DO NOT show how beautiful this guitar is. The green is so vibrant and warm in tone..I have never owned a guitar that is this gorgeous to look at..Jim told me that if I ever wanted to sell it that he would buy it back...He loved it. Alas, Jim's gone now..bless his heart. He was a really good and honest man.

I met him just a few months before he passed. Very briefly but he was very kind and encouraging to me as a young guy wanting to learn steel.

Yes Damir, Jim was very special. He was honest to the point of fault. I enjoyed many conversations with him allowing him to reminisce about the good ole days and all the friends he had that made it to the "big time"..He really knew everybody in the business and was deeply respected. Like I said, I met him thru Sonny Curtis who played steele with Tammy Wynette and Geo. Jones for 20 years in '78.

Thanks Stu..It is really just almost too nice to be a gig guitar. everyone that sees this guitar is just blown away by the color combination with the blonde maple and emerald green grain.

Am I wrong or is this a single raise/lower system?

I think Chris meant to write ZB, not JB.
For all that are not familiar with the Clark, Its very mush like a ZB.
Jim Clark followed the ZB design very closely.
This guitar has all the capability of anything Lloyd Green recorded through his carrier.
Beautiful guitar !!

This may be the last guitar that Jim Clark built before his untimely passing.. I am re posting this Lloyd Green model for sale at a sacrifice price. It needs to find a good home instead of my closet.

Wow! This is one beautiful instrument. If I had the money, it would be mine! A guitar like this deserves a great home and to be played every day!
CLR Custom SD10 Pedal Steel; Telonics 500-B Combo w/ TT 15"; Hilton Low Profile VP; Telonics X-10 Pup; Frenchy's Steel Mill Strings; George L's Cables; BJS Tone Bar; Hoffmeyer Picks. This combination produces a Heavenly tone! Psalm 33:2 "Praise the Lord with...an instrument of ten strings."

Just one question

Post by Tommy Auldridge »

Is it a pull release, or all pull? Thanks, Tommy.....

This would be an all pull, very similar to the ZB's. All of Jim's guitars have short, very positive pedal action. Some of the most beautiful hand finished woodwork around.
