I had a few inquiries about the production date on this guitar. I'm not sure but believe it to be a late 60's or very early 70's model. Maybe someone with the list can correct me and let us know for sure.

i dunno and it really doesn't matter, but narrow pedals and black levers makes me think mid-'70s.

again, I'm not sure how accurate this is but should be close. This is from the old Carter website. I'm ready to get blasted for posting.
Emmons D-10 Push-Pull Serial Numbers**
Year Starting # Ending #
1966 1024 1126
1967 1127 1205
1968 1206 1283
1969 1284 1337
1970 1338 1474
1971 1475 1588
1972 1589 1720
1973 1721 1825
1974 1826 2044
1975 2045 2204
1976 2205 2310
1977 2311 2416
1978 2417 2581
1979 2582 2767
1980 2768 2870
1981 2871 2948

Please Note: These serial numbers apply to D-10's only. After each number, the letter "D" is stamped. Great care has been taken to verify the accuracy of this information with various "Push-Pull Experts" around the U.S. However, we cannot guarantee the information given in the above chart is 100% accurate.

In the years 1964 and 1965, it appears that serial numbers were taken off of the sales invoice; and that these guitars were not consecutively numbered (as they may have used an invoice or 2 in between guitar sales for pickup sales or string sales, etc.)

Also, at a certain point, it is possible that the endplates were serialized ahead of guitar construction and put on a shelf, and then taken down and assembled into a guitar at a later date. Therefore, it is possible that some numbers may fall into one year earlier or later than shown on the chart.

Serial # 25XX D. Shipped brand new from Emmons Guitar INC. 5/2/67. I think the chart may be a tad off. However, seems pretty much on the mark after 1969.

my two cents.... BEST sounding P/P made .....BIG mistake selling any wood neck Emmons, the tone is superb, tuning issues on gigs due to temperature changes is a non-issue, these models are great, mine stays in tune for weeks... not to mention they are as solid as a tank !!! KEEP IT!!!!

You are so correct Bob, I have a wood neck bolt on that is solid as a rock. Can't even remember last time I tuned using the screws. Stays in tune perfect and sounds and plays great. They are a bit heavy for me these days. I just got an all pull guitar here couple months ago (because it's lighter) and having to get used to tuning them all time. I've never owned an all pull that stays in tune like the push pulls. Somebody is going to get a very nice guitar that will only increase in value.

I had a request to post a picture of the nut roller. It measures right at 2.5 inches from string one to ten. The nut rollers are gauged, also.

I received a question about the floor pedals. Here are a couple of pictures to clarify. Each pedal measures 1 1/8 inch. The total spacing you can see from the photos.

Wow. I just saw a near litter mate to this guitar yesterday. Keith Hilton was playing it at a jam in Branson. Black mica, wood necks, bolt-on, fatback, narrow cast pedals, black KLs. It was the best sounding guitar there, IMO, and there were some good ones for sure. Only diff was the necks on Keith's didn't have the trim -- plain black. Awesome, rare guitar. I'd like to know how many of these were actually made. Must have been special orders? My understanding is the bolt-on era was was mainly '66-'68. Is that wrong?

BTW, Keith is a great player and was sounding great, as usual.
