Buddy Emmons on the TV last night...

Post by Tom Quinn »

Saw Buddy in the audience for the Ray Price special on "Country Family Reunion" on RFD TV. They tossed a few comments to him. Haven't seen him in many years. Mike Johnson killed it as usual on one of his red Emmons...

You might catch him in this clip. He's in black to the right.

Tea is great. Reminds me of LeAnn Womack. Tea is one of the best things going right now in "real country". Don't think I saw Buddy. I'll have to watch again, and again, and again. Well.. You get the picture.

EDIT: I think I saw him on the 2nd time I watched

...as best I can tell in that sequence, it looks like the back of his head on the right (in the black shirt) just as the camera zooms in on Bill, but that's about all I can see. But again, I'm near-sighted in one eye, and far-sighted in the other, what do I know?

My 2 cents, YMMV.

That was just a snippet of the show. The whole show the camera caught up with him a couple of times as someone or other addressed Buddy.

never heard of Teea before but she sings pretty well with this excellent bunch of musicians. is she young? she kind of has an older air about her.

She's pretty popular in the "real country" circles, especially Nashville. She has a lot of video on YouTube, including several with the Time Jumpers.

I'm getting a Teea Goans CD. This girl is incredible. Outstanding job by the band. I can imagine her with a string arrangement.

That clip was what, 8 minutes and change? I wish she'd sung another song, instead of TALKING the first 4 minutes of the video. Great singing voice. Talking? Not so much.

:D Right on, Tony. You're right. Save Tea ? for another day. Attended a couple of Ray's shows in the 60s. Tickets were always less than $5.00. Some of the best ever.

I don't always like the talking, but that's a big part of what that show is about. It's not just about singing. There is always the ability to fast forward to the music.

I did. That's how I know she had time for another song. Nothing against the singer--Great voice.

Mike Johnson played. It would be nice if Mike would post something about whether or not he talked to Buddy.

I just finished watching tonight’s RFD TV’s “Country Family Reunion” remembering Ray Price. It seems there is a total of 6 or 7 hours of the remembering Ray Price series. Tonight T. Graham Brown performed “Night Life” and Mike Johnson was superb on steel guitar. Mike also talked about “The Big E” who was in the audience. I enjoyed watching.

The version of “Night Life” that I enjoy the most is Ray and Buddy’s 1981 Austin City Limits performance. To me it seems that Ray and Buddy were feeding off of each other’s performance and they just continued to ratchet it up until the end of the song.

That is a good'un, Bill! Just think about what we'd be doing, if we had Bill Anderson's money AND his hair?

THE COUNTRY FAMILY REUNION SHOWS seen on RFD TV are actually INFOMERCIALS for the DVD SETS you can purchase. The DVDs contain over 4 hours of music, interviews and entertainment.

After the song "Night Life", I got to say a few words about my appreciation for Buddy. Bill talked with Buddy about the recording of "Nightlife" and some other highlights in his career.

As I said earlier, if you were going to buy one set of DVDs, it would definately be "THE RAY PRICE TRIBUTE"

Go to the website and check it out. People like you guys buying these DVDs insures more of these shows to come. Thanks so much.
