Rains Guitar Owners..Beware of NOTHING
Jim, your thread was ridiculous. OK, you may have had a problem,I don't know? Just get it fixed. These are quality all the way and my next steel will be a Rains too. This should not have been a forum topic. There is NO bad workmanship with these steels, I do know that. I have 2 here, and there will be at least one more coming back with us after the TSGA.
It's just not the right place Jim, sorry.
AND...... I have a new puppy! JAPANESE AKITA... We have called him 'TEXAS' because we met his dad, and he was as big as Texas!
BEWARE OF 'TEXAS' when he grows up!
Here's a picture of him..

That's a fine looking Akita you've got there David. You are right beware of Texas, it's like the sign you see when entering the State line, "Don't Mess With Texas" might add or the Rains Steels private property.
See you guys in a few short days.

David,
Good man! Hopefully this will put the lid on the Rains thing. There is way too much carping about build quality of guitars on this forum!
Congratulations on on the arrival of your new family member! That is one fine looking pupper!
I think Ivan is on to something! Lets turn this into a Pup thread! We don't have an Akita but we are the proud parents of our Golden Retreiver "Butch"!

The Akita dogs in Japan are a bit different than the ones in the USA. They are amazing critters for sure. There's a three legged one in my neighborhood, the product of some slum-crawling a-hole trying to fight it against pits. It was rescued by a neighbor from the animal control people.
I got my first dog on Valentine's Day! Shawnee is 13, was given up as part of a divorce. No one who came to the SPCA wanted him becauese of his age. I took him home, he's probably half collie and half golden retriever or goldsen lab. Absolutely healthy, love my cats and is a joy to be around. My first dog! Wow!

We can turn the treat into " SHOW ME YOUR DOG "
It is more interesting than slaming someone.
Here is our new puppi that come to our family 6 weeks ago. It is an Australien Kelpie mix. Her name is Joy. She brings me away from my workshop everyday a few hours.

Re: Rains Guitar Owners..Beware of NOTHING
Most all "steel problems" are caused by well-intentioned owners, who have too little knowledge of basic mechanics.David Hartley wrote:Jim, your thread was ridiculous. OK, you may have had a problem,I don't know? Just get it fixed.
Reminds me of the time a neighbor stopped over and said he wanted to change his own oil, but that he didn't know where the drain plug was on his car. I told him, matter-of-factly, that if he couldn't find it, he probably had no business working on his own car.

Too cool. I've always wanted a meerkat, but it looks like a prairie dog or two would be just as good.Rich Upright wrote: 3 of my prairie dogs & my Chihuahua,Ricky.
Who knew that they could adjust to a nice warm blanket...?

Can't complain about problems on a steel guitar that just set someone back multiple thousands of dollars, and months, perhaps years of waiting??.. On a steel guitar forum?...nonsense.. This is a steel guitar owners/players forum, NOT a steel guitar builders forum, although they have a strong voice here as well..
No one likes to get a clunker after spending a lot of money, and waiting a long time..Its very upsetting..
The problem will be solved I am sure, and the owner should acknowledge the timely resolution of the issue when all is said and done... However, I see no problem in bitching out a builder publicly if there are serious issues with a very expensive, and supposedly custom built musical instrument.... bob

DUH!... missed that Lane ... Only a year from retirement, and the age related brain fade is starting to assert itself with authority... bobLane Gray wrote:I'm betting the problem was solved YEARS ago, as this thread is six years old.
