I have a friend that when plugging his DD-3 into Peavey amps, one is Peavey Bandit, not sure of the other one there is a loud hum. He also has a small Vox amp that does not hum with the DD-3 plugged in. Any idea what might cause this.

If he is using a DC power supply (wall wart) with the DD3, try it with the internal battery and see if it hums.

Tried using the battery still hums, also tried different cords with same result.

I'd check the connections in the box.
