Rex Wiseman, Oak Ridge Boys, picks up his 1974 SD10 Emmons

Post by Billy Knowles »

Rex Wiseman, steel player for the Oak Ridge Boys, came from Nashville this week to pick up his new/old completely restored 1974 Emmons SD10 4 x 5, blue lacquer body, this week. Great to have him and got to listen to him play for a full day. Rex is one very nice person in addition to being a great musician.

.....As always, Billy has "knocked it outta da park" once again!! This is an awesome guitar. Plays like a dream and sounds as big as a house! It also has the "Dumplin Split" on it....(I'll let Billy explain that one)....But trust me, If you have a push pull, You want that on it!!! This guitar makes me smile every time I sit down behind it.....Brother Billy, "Ya Did Good"

:D Wow, this is certainly a great looking steel guitar. I know you will have a lot of fun playing it. When this steel was made, I believe my cousin Larry Orr was playing steel with the Oak Ridge Boys.

Hey Billy. Hope you and yours are well. Rex has my curiosity asking "What is the Dumplin Split?"

Something tells me it has nothing to do with ice cream and toppings at Dairy Queen on a hot day like today in Eastern NC. LOL.

Best wishes, Walter
