Melobar CC-8?

Post by Todd Weger »

Hello -- Has anyone here played or own a Melobar CC-8? I find them beautiful looking laps, and I'm sure they sound as good or even better than they look. I'd like to order one (probably not until next year), but am just wondering how people like them. I prefer the 8-string spacing, as it's about the same as my 6-string guitar's spacing, and I switch back and forth quite a bit.

Thanks!
TJW

Hey TJ, that's one of my holy grail steels...at least I think so. Never played one, but based on my opinion of my SLS, it's got to be fantastic. And those features for the price...

Todd, I bought a new CC8 a couple of years ago, and am still very glad I did. Great action, tone & sustain. Mine is clear-coated natural maple with all black hardware, which looks great, too.

Ok, I probably can't tick Ted off with this since he's already so backed up with orders...(!) I have a really nice condition Melobar 8 string I could let one of you guys have reasonably. I believe it's in between the Tomahawk and CC8 style as far as features. Really beautiful Dark green metallic, Paul Barth pickup, sounds great. Ask for a picture. Just got too many steels ...
