Bob, he builds an S10 and you have the option of having your new guitar built on a double frame w/pad. 3 pedals and 4 knee levers are standard.

I ordered a new D-10 the first of March last year and the Guitar arrived December 3rd. In that case it was 8 to 9 months. Bruce predicted nearly a year at that time. If you order one, you won't be sorry!

$1000+ for a student Zum? Has the price on these really gone up or did those guys just not know what they were bidding on??

Jay,

My guess would be the latter. I bought a Stage One Zum a little over a year ago, from a fellow forumite, and paid $525. While it's not as beefy as my Emmons D-10, it was a good buy and I love it as a light weight "travel" guitar. Plays in tune very well.

Interesting....

That means the gestation period for a new Zum is somewhere between that of a giraffe and an African elephant.

The gestation period for a rabbit is a lot shorter but then you should expect something that would hop around a lot!

Tony,
I have one also and I think it is a super guitar for what it is. Not using it much now so that's why the big price piqued my curiosity, in fact I would sell it if someone wanted to pay $525 for it.

I Have a 12 string universal E9/B6 bought it in 1985, and it plays just as good as the day i got it..It has 7 pedals and 5 knee levers. The fifth one i put on cause back then there was a marvelous change going around where the 1st string raised a whole step and the 6th string dropped a whole step. Then I also put on the raised lower on the 6th string. New i gave 2700 for it. Could anyone tell me what it is actualy worth if i would sell it today.. I got a new D10 about 5 years ago and let the universal set for a while.. But i just wondered what the Universal is worth other than my own sentamental ups and downs i went through playing it.
