On the George Strait "Lead On" CD, the song "I Met a Friend Of Yours Today", second verse after the words "...I thought I'd stop and have a round...".

BE plays a nifty little descending fill and for some reason I just can't nail it.

Can anyone show me the run, it has got to be a no-brainer, but I am experiencing a parallel brain dump of some kind.

Thanks,

Ricky

WEll lets hear it???
Sorry I don't have that George Strait CD or any of them actually as my Ex-wife ran off with all the good stuff> So I'm at a loss unless I can hear it.
But that is one of my all-time favorite Mel Street songs....

Aw man, now you've gone and done it, Ricky. Tickled that ol' Mel Street hot spot.

Can't help with the Strait version. But the original just reminds me what a hugely underrated talent Mel was. I've always been a huge fan. If you can get past the cheesy 70s-era production, his stuff defines, IMO, what is missing from country music today.

It wasn't for nothing that George Jones called Mel Street the best singer in the business.

E9 tuning
note 1: fret 9, string 9
note 2: fret 9, string 7
note 3: fret 8, string 6
note 4; fret 7, string 5

block lower strings to finish on strings 5 and 6 up the neck (A,B pedals as needed)
- Let me know if Ithis works (I only have 8 strings on my steel)

next to George Jones, I'd agree, Mel Street was the best!
