WTB: Non-student model single-neck.

Post by Jim Loessberg »

Hello,

I am helping a friend who has a friend who would like to buy a single-neck pedal steel with 10 strings. They aren't too limited as to which brand they'd like but would like a non-student model in the $1500 range.

Please reply to this post if you have something that fits.

Thanks a million,

Hi Jim, I have a LTD Nashville S-10, which I'm told was built by Gary Rittenberry. It is pretty much set up standard Emmons, wth 3 and 4. Black mica finish with small pad. I can send pics if interested. I will sell for $1200 plus shipping, or $1250 and I'll ship it. The guitar is essentially like a Shobud. This guitar has good pedal action, positive and responsive. When I got it, both rear leg sockets had stripped threads, with heli-coils. Left rear leg works well with the heli-coil, but right rear heli-coil would'nt hold well enough. I debated several options and first option was to clean the socket well and fill with J.B. Weld, 3960 psi. I drilled and tapped, and it appears to be holding very well. To aid in stability, I fashioned a brace on each rear leg, which you will see if you want pics.

Jim, This is a good guitar, has a lot of good music in it, and I went in detail because I have a good reputation on this Forum, having sold many guitars without the first complaint.

By the way, We met several years ago in the Fulawka room in St. Louis. Leona Williams came in a did a mini concert, with you on drums, Russ Hicks on bass, Gene Brown on fiddle (Texas) and a young guy from Canada on second fiddle, me on guitar, Roger Edgington on steel. That was a highpoint in my musical experience, getting to play with such talented artist. I was able to play stuff that night I could'nt play ordinarily. It was an honor to be in the same room with you guys. Thanks, Lonnie Portwood 904 993 4422
