I've got a Derby steel that I think could be coaxed into playing a bit better than it does, and, I'd like to add a couple of additional changes to it too. Can anyone direct me to a good pedalsteel service guy around the northeast ohio area or someplace relatively close to here?
Thanks.

Al,

Drew Howard here. You still pickin' with Hillbilly Idol? I recall you and your Emmons push-pull at Wheatland a few years back. Sounded REAL good.

cheers,
Drew

Check out Charlie McVay (jr and or sr!). Charlie Sr. lives near NewCastle PA, and Charlie Jr. lives somewhere in Beaver County. Both should be a fairly short drive from Kent. I know Ed Naylor is supposed to be pretty good as well, however, I think the McVay's are quite a bit closer to you.

Hello to you Drew. Thanks for the comment on the old Emmons. It was a real nice steel for me for a good long time. I actually picked that one up from Charlie McVay over in Pittsburgh. -mainly playin a HWP Mullen these days. Hillbilly Idol is still chuggin along. Not much in the fester department on tap for us this summer though. How are things with you?
Thanks for the advice to all. I'm checkin in with Rick at Hummingbird Music down in Sugarcreek for the setup and so forth on this Derby.

Hey Al, Rick is located right in the middle of an Amish town, interesting place to visit when you go there, Take a stroll thru the town if you get a chance. steveb.
