I was a Sax major in college and played Tenor on the road until Disco hit in 78. I doubled on Pedal Steel and walked away from Sax, convinced that Country was the only thing that would survive the Disco Scourge. Sax requires musculature that I couldn't get back years later when I came back to the horn. Steel is a touch that doesn't require as much maintenance, in my experience.

I gave it a shot on tenor sax in 1970, but I decided I wanted to be mediocre on one instrument only.
My rig: Infinity and Telonics.

Son, we live in a world with walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men with steel guitars. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Lt. Weinberg?
